Obstetrics & Gynecology at Oakland
Welcome
More than 50 years ago, Kaiser Oakland became the first ever Kaiser
patient care facility. In 1947, shortly after opening its doors
for patient care, Kaiser Oakland instituted a residency-training
program in Obstetrics and Gynecology. The primary mission of the
Obstetrics/Gynecology residency program at Kaiser Permanente Oakland
is to provide a superior post-graduate medical education experience.
Residents are given clear guidelines regarding the material they
are expected to learn and they are taught in multiple formats including:

- Patient care
- Didactic lectures
- Case conferences
- National meetings
- Web-based learning
- CREOG examinations
- Mock Oral Exam
- Critical Event Training
- Surgical Simulation
Our
program fills four categorical positions each year. We have high
expectations for our residents and our selection process is very
competitive.
Residents rotate through Kaiser Permanente clinics in Oakland
and Richmond. Kaiser Permanente Richmond is the location for minor
and major gynecologic procedures. All inpatient obstetrical care
for the two campuses takes place at Kaiser Oakland.
