Surgery at Kaiser Northern California
UCSF East Bay Surgery Consortium
Kaiser
Permanente Northern California, along with Alameda County Medical
Center, California Pacific Medical Center, and the VA medical centers
at San Francisco, CA and Reno, NV have joined together to create the
UCSF East Bay Surgery Consortium. Sponsored by UCSF, this consortium
matches 7 categorical and 7 preliminary surgery positions a year.
Residents of the East Bay Consortium regularly rotate to our Oakland,
Hayward, Fremont, and Walnut Creek Medical Centers. Graduates of this
program have been exposed to a very diverse patient base and most
graduates report performing over 800 individual surgery cases during
the course of their residency. Residents in good standing may elect
a period of research after the second or third clinical year.
