Kaiser Permanente Northern California

Come See Us

The Northern California residency programs  have been in existence since 1947. Our goal is to train the finest quality physicians in the setting of the nation's largest and most highly regarded integrated health care system. Our graduates are highly sought after and many become leaders in our own and other health care organizations and associations.

In Northern California over 900 residents receive training each year at our medical centers in programs sponsored by Kaiser Permanente, affiliated major universities, and other accredited training programs. We provide a culturally diverse patient base, a supportive environment and faculty attending physicians with a strong commitment to teaching evidence-based medicine. Kaiser Permanente's commitment to Graduate Medical Education extends to more than just clinical training. Our extensive affiliations with the best medical schools in Northern California has lead to over 600 members of The Permanente Medical Group serving as faculty at these institutions as well as teaching and mentoring our own residents. Our residents also benefit from the best non-university research department in the nation. Residents at our facilities are encouraged to participate in community outreach and several of our programs have elective training at non-hospital locations that provide services to the underprivileged populations of the areas we serve.

We encourage interested medical school students  to come see us at our booth at one of these residency fairs:
