Curriculum
Teaching Conferences
Morning Report is held Tuesday through Thursday
at 8:00 a.m., in which senior residents present one or two interesting
cases from their ward service. In addition to the residents, chief
residents, and program director, there are generally multiple subspecialists
in attendance to offer teaching input, including nephrologists,
endocrinologists, cardiologists, rheumatologists, and the Chief
of Radiology.
Noon Conference is held daily 12:30-1:30 p.m. These include didactic presentations as well as case-based discussions.
Preclinic Conference
is held on Monday and Friday afternoons from 1:30 to 2:00 p.m. Residents
attend an ambulatory pre-clinic conference led by a primary care
physician to discuss outpatient topics.
Teaching Rounds
are held daily by ward team attendings. Ward teams are protected
from admissions from 8-11 am each day in order to provide adequate
time for morning report, work rounds, and teaching rounds with the
attending

American Board of Internal Medicine Pass Rate
Our residents always perform well on the Boards. The cumulative pass rate for the first attempt on the ABIM certification examination is 100% for the past 3 years (2007-2009). Board preparation review sessions take place throughout the year and are open to all residents.
