Obstetrics & Gynecology at Santa Clara

Our Faculty

Martin K. Wong, MD Chief, Dept of Obstetrics and Gynecology

Dr. Wong was born, raised and educated in Southern California but has called Santa Clara County home for nearly 20 years. He graduated from the University of Southern California School of Medicine and completed his residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at the Women’s Hospital of the Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center. He served in the USPHS-Indian Health Service and was in private practice in San Jose before joining The Permanente Medical Group in 2003. An active interest in clinical teaching was the main motivator for his transition to Kaiser Permanente. Over 20 years of widespread clinical and medical business experience gives him tremendous perspective to the contemporary practice of medicine.

His particular expertise in advanced laparoscopy and other minimally invasive gynecologic procedures has provided valuable opportunities for enhancing the spectrum of resident surgical experiences at Santa Clara. He has also served as the Labor & Delivery Unit Physician Leader and is active on the obstetrical service. He joins all of the attending staff in strongly supporting resident education and appreciates the reciprocal dynamics of the residency program in invigorating and vitalizing the professional and academic acumen of the entire department. His passion is to foster excellent clinical training at all levels to provide the highest quality care and service to patients and develop outstanding clinicians in our specialty.

David K. Levin, MD - Program Director

Dr. Levin received his MD from Georgetown University in Washington D.C. After two years of residency in OB/GYN at Georgetown, he transferred to Kaiser Santa Clara and was a member of the program's first graduating class of residents.

Dr. Levin has been program director since 1987. He has received numerous teaching awards including the CREOG National Faculty Award for Excellence in Resident Education in 1997 and 1999. In 2005 he was presented with the Off Service Teaching Award by the Emergency Medicine residents. Dr. Levin was named as one of the "Best Doctors" by Bay Area Consumers Checkbook magazine in 1999, 2003 and 2005. He also serves the medical center as Director of Graduate Medical Education and has an appointment as Clinical Associate Professor at the Stanford University of Medicine.

She completed her residency and fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA. Since that time, she has been involved primarily in clinical practice. A major factor for her in coming to Kaiser Santa Clara was the chance to return to teaching and mentoring residents.

Dr. Robinson has previously been involved in research into preeclampsia and has an avid interest in fetal growth and anatomic anomalies, and multiple gestation. She is also dedicated to resident teaching on Labor and Delivery and in the outpatient clinic. She is enthusiastic about helping residents with their research projects.

Dr. D'Amico took a circuitous route to California - from Philadelphia to Boston to Chicago to Los Angeles. After completing his residency, he spent 10 years as a "small town doctor" practicing Ob Gyn in Santa Cruz, CA. He then went on to an REI fellowship at Harvard and UCLA.

Dr. D'Amico has a particular expertise in operative therapy and actively teaches residents in the OR. He oversees second and fourth year residents in the infertility clinic.
