About the Program
- In continuous operation since 1974
- Over thirty-five fellows have matriculated through the program.
- The Department of Allergy operates the Regional Allergy Laboratory,
which was established in 1969. The lab is used for training residents
in basic laboratory immunology and to support residents' research
What Makes Us Unique
Allergy and Immunology
is a separate department
from the primary care
departments. It is one
of the few training programs
where patients of all
ages from diverse ethnic backgrounds are seen in clinic setting.
Residents have opportunities
for extensive cross training
in both Pediatric and
Adult Allergy and Immunology,
following their own panel
of patients in continuity
for the duration of the
fellowship. The research
lab is directed by an
MD/PhD and has a staff
that includes two additional
PhD's to assist fellows
with basic science research.
The training program
is flexible to meet individual
trainee needs. The trainees
have the opportunity
to interchange with trainees
from other local training
programs via local symposia
and special programs.
Applicants
The program offers one fellowship position each year. Applicants should
have completed or be in the process of completing a residency in Internal
Medicine or Pediatrics at the time of application and should be Board
eligible or Board certified in the respective discipline.
