Kaiser Permanente Southern California Residency and Fellowship Programs
Electrophysiology - Los Angeles Medical Center

About the Program

The Electrophysiology Program at the Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center (LAMC) is the tertiary referral center for all twelve Southern California Kaiser Permanente Medical Centers, which serve a population of more than three million people.

The Electrophysiology program provides residents with excellent training in all aspects of clinical Electrophysiology.  The program is unique due to the volume and mix of challenging cases, as well as the direct supervision and educational input for each case. Fellows get exposure to different aspects of Electrophysiology, including biventricular device implants, and cutting-edge Electrophysiology procedures such as, intracardiac echocardiography, transseptal cathterization, three-dimensional magnetic mapping, and the use of Carto-merge.

Five full-time Electrophysiology faculty members are present in the department. The faculty sponsors a daily conference to review all diagnostic cases and discuss all potential interventions and alternatives appropriate to the case.  In addition, each week has several educational conferences on its schedule, which permits discussions of current topics in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology.
