We believe you can thrive at any age!
The goal of the Kaiser Permanente Fontana Fellowship in Geriatric
Medicine is to produce new leaders who will teach excellent care
of older persons and/or conduct aging-related research at medical
schools, teaching hospitals, academic nursing homes, and other sites
serving elderly individuals. Most graduates will have a teaching
or research career emphasis.
The one-year Kaiser Foundation Hospital geriatric residency educational
program is organized to provide a superior educational experience
in geriatric care in a managed care setting to postgraduate physicians. The
residents will gain the competency to manage the entire gamut of
geriatric care and serve as a consultant to other medical providers. Upon
completion of the residency, the postgraduate physician will be able
to sit for the Certificate of Added Qualifications (CAQ) in Geriatric
Medicine.
