About the Program
Established
in 1979, the Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center (LAMC)
Nephrology Fellowship Program has trained over 40 nephrologists practicing
both across the country and internationally in clinical, academic,
and administrative roles. Our fellows are exposed to all aspects
of both inpatient and outpatient Clinical Nephrology. LAMC is an
active tertiary care hospital. Inpatient and outpatient transplant
experience is provided during rotations at UCLA Medical Center .
Care management and the involvement of multidisciplinary teams is
emphasized.
The academic program is designed to provide an intensive and structured
clinical and research experience for physicians in training so that
they may develop the skills necessary to become highly accomplished
nephrologists in the clinical, research, or academic environment. In 2007, the Nephrology program received the maximal 5 year accreditation by the ACGME. Over the past 10 years, Nephrology Board Exam pass rate has been 100%.
The Nephrology Fellowship Program is a two-year program, with three
residents each year.
