There is a Continuing Medical Education Program and an annual Family Medicine symposium, featuring outstanding speakers from across the country. There are conferences daily in numerous other disciplines as a result of the multiple other training programs at the Medical Center . Third-year residents also attend the UCLA family practice refresher course just prior to their graduation. Residents often use this time to refine their basic clinical procedure skills such as skin biopsies, electrocautery, cryosurgery, endometrial biopsies, colonoscopy, treadmills, podiatry, myofascial spray and stretch, and flexible sigmoidoscopy.

A new hospital is currently being built and opening in 2009/ 2010. An Electronic Medical Record, Health Connect, rolled out in 2007 for Outpatient and 2008 for Inpatient, continues to improve the quality of care by reducing medical errors. Digitized radiographs are available online as well.
