Kaiser Permanente Southern California Residency and Fellowship Programs
Obstetrics Gynecology - Los Angeles Medical Center

About the Program

The Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center (LAMC) residency program in Obstetrics and Gynecology (Ob/Gyn) prepares you for the rewards and challenges of this specialty. We structure your training around the concept of providing comprehensive, cost-effective medical care; including health maintenance and preventive care. We strive to balance your outpatient and inpatient experiences.

Our educational philosophy encourages personal and professional growth in the resident staff. Our department includes 27 full-time, board-certified Ob/Gyn physicians, and we have fellowship-trained specialists in Urogynecology, Gynecologic Oncology, Reproductive Endocrinology, and Maternal-Fetal Medicine. The department's faculty, residents and personnel proudly reflect the ethnic diversity of Los Angeles.

Throughout the four-year program, you will encounter a humanistic approach to training. Our team-centered approach to health care is mirrored in the entire Medical Center. Our faculty and residents interact regularly with house staff in other specialties. LAMC has residency programs in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, General Surgery, Pediatrics, Urology, Radiology, Radiation Oncology, and Neurology.

The Ob/Gyn residency program at LAMC is fully approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. Residents gain experience in all aspects of Obstetrics, including training in Reproductive Biology, Genetics, and Perinatology. Gynecologic expertise is developed through extensive clinical experience; there are rotations in Colposcopy, Urogynecology, Gynecological Oncology, and Reproductive Endocrinology/Infertility.

As the only Ob/Gyn residency program in Kaiser Permanente's Southern California region, we receive more than 200 applications to fill five intern positions.
